We are pleased to share on Tuesday, Sept. 1st, CNUSD Board of Education approved a plan allowing sports training and conditioning under specific circumstances. The adopted plan was developed by our CNUSD Athletic Directors, Athletic Trainers, and District staff.
The plan appropriately adheres to the most up-to-date health and safety guidance from the California Department of Public Health. The return to conditioning practices are currently scheduled to begin Oct. 1 however, staff is working to potentially move that date up, as possible. Further details will be shared by coaches and site Athletic Directors in the near future in regards to practice times and safety procedures.
What you need to know:
- Sports that have been approved to return are the new 20-21 CIF fall sport teams (Football, Cross Country, Boys/Girls Volleyball, Boys/Girls Water Polo, Sideline Cheer)
- Pre-Participation Physical Exam and Online Athletic Clearance submission is required prior to participation (more information below)
- Practices are a conditioning model only (no equipment, no contact)
- Practices will begin by October 1st
- Athletic participation during this phase is voluntary and athletes that choose not to participate at this time will be held harmless towards future participation
We look forward to seeing our student-athletes back on campus doing what they love. More details will be shared by coaches and site Athletic Departments in the coming weeks.
